Rosa Vañó, co-founder of Castillo de Canena olive oil company, returns to our studios for a second program, this time conducting an oil tasting ("cata de aceites de oliva") in which Justin Coe and Alison Hughes try six different types of extra virgen olive oil producted by Castillo de Canena, based in the province of Jaén, in Spain's southern region of Andalousia. Besides instructing Alison and Justin on what flavors to look for in the olive oils they taste, Rosa mentions the main varieties of olives grown in Spain, such as "picual" (from Jaén), "arbequina" (Catalonia), "hojiblanca" (Málaga), "cornicabra" (Toledo), as well as "empeltre," "cuquillo," and "manzanilla." In this second of two programs on olive oil, we hear more music selected by Rosa, ranging from Murray Head to Harry Nilsson to Vivaldi.
