Televisión Española was launched in 1956, which makes it the oldest Spanish audiovisual channel. Today it is made up of La 1, La 2, Canal 24 horas, Clan, TDP, TVE Internacional and Star TVE.
Since its started in Salamanca in 1937, Radio Nacional has evolved and grown throughout its history with RNE, Radio Clásica, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5 and Radio Exterior de España.
The RTVE website was launched in 1986. In May 2008, RTVE.es was launched and quickly became the first audiovisual portal in Spain and a benchmark in the Hispanic online world.
The RTVE Institute offers internal and external training in higher degree courses in Image and Sound, specialised monographic courses and master's degrees in collaboration with several public universities.
The RTVE Symphony Orchestra promotes symphonic and choral music as a cultural and social asset. In 2015, the RTVE Orchestra celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Choir was created in 1950.
RTVE hosts initiatives to support Innovation and Entrepreneurship, whose main objective is to contribute to the development and competitiveness of the audiovisual sector in general, and that of RTVE in particular.
