TOL21. Istanbul (Turkey), 16/06/2013.- Turkish riot police use a water cannon to disperse protestors near Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey, 16 June 2013. Protests broke out late Saturday in Istanbul after Turkish police cleared anti-government demonstrators from Gezi Park in the city's Taksim Square. Turkish police used tear gas and water cannon on Sunday to prevent thousands of activists from relaunching protests in the city's Taksim Square, signalling the government's unwillingness to soften its stance against demonstrators. Witnesses said demonstrators threw stones at riot police, chanting anti-government slogans. There were also clashes in the capital Ankara. Local media said police reinforcements were being sent from the provinces to Istanbul. EFE/EPA/TOLGA BOZOGLU
