Mercedes Coghen destaca el enfoque humano de Madrid 2016

Hola Everyone!

As you have just seen, Madrileños have been made with a bit of everyone with hope and joy, with effort and dreams.

As individuals, we are not defined by our dreams, but rather by what we do to make them a reality. I learned that in Barcelona in 1992.

I was captain of the women's hockey team that had a dream. Such a big dream in fact that we never lost sight of it.

We were committed; we made many sacrifices and we wanted to win just that little bit more than anyone else!

Then, when we stood on the top of the podium, we knew that nothing would ever be considered impossible again, because we believed in ourselves.

You can not imagine how many times that day has come back to me, to help me, during the last 3 years.

I have applied the same principles to the Madrid bid, in order to deliver our vision.

We believe that the Olympic and Paralympic Games will help us create a lifestyle in which sport, teamwork and respect for others will become an integral part of community life. A vision that puts people at the heart of the project.

A vision delivered by our Legacy Plan that will enhance the Olympic Movement before, during and well beyond the Games.

We believe in our Games with the Human Touch.

Spain is a bridge between cultures and continents

. Thanks to our location and time zone, we offer you a truly international global Games that will touch the lives and inspire more people than ever before.
