Entre 1989 y 1993, uno de los grandes guitarristas de la historia del jazz, Jim Hall, grabó unos discos para The Musical Heritage Society, sello discográfico de venta por correo. De aquellas grabaciones escuchamos 'Something special' y 'Somewhere' (del disco 'Something special'), 'All the things you are', 'St. Thomas', 'Begin the beguine' y 'Laura´s dream' (del disco 'Live at Town Hall vol. 1'), 'My funny valentine' (de 'Live at Town Hall vol.2') y 'What´s it like to love', 'The answer is yes' y 'Subsequently' (del disco 'Subsequently').
