A Kendrick Lamar le ha venido bien el beef con Drake, pero no le hace falta. Como mucho para agitar la atención y devolverle el aspecto de figura del rap lejos del de "ganador de un Pulitzer". Baja al barro en las peleas y hace su música más directa, ágil y agresiva en 'GNX'. Y puestos a simplificar, llama para completar la producción a Jack Antonoff, el artífice del pop más mainstream (Lorde, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Lana del Rey) con ninguna experiencia en el hip hop.
