The golden girls
Series - 13 x 50' - Comedy
In order to meet her mortgage payments, Blanca has no choice but to rent some of the rooms in her house to other women. She puts up an ad on a supermarket bulletin board and she is responded by Rosa and Doroti, who then share Blanca’s chalet with her. Sofía, Doroti’s mother, comes aboard when the senior citizens’ home where she lives is destroyed by fire, and she has to resort to her daughter because she has nowhere else to go.
The cohabitation of three elderly women sharing the same problems, especially loneliness because they don’t have a man at their side, leads them to become close friends. From then on they will support each other to weather the setbacks and circumstances they come across in their everyday life.
Thanks to their sense of humour and their eagerness to enjoy life and be happy at all times, they manage to face the future with a positive attitude and an optimistic outlook.
CHARACTERS:
Lola Herrera plays BLANCA:
She is an attractive and flirtatious widow, who especially loves to flirt with men. As she considers sex to be the best thing there is, she tries to make the most of her mature years. In her house she has taken in her two friends and the mother of one of them, who live under the same roof.
Concha Velasco plays DOROTI:
She is the only divorcee, the most responsible and analytical of the group of friends. She is mainly responsible for the problems posed by having her mother -Sofia- with her, which causes her more than one headache due to the peculiar character of the lady.
Intelligent and perspicacious, sarcastic and ironic. Her intelligence allows her to control situations at all times and to be in a certain way responsible for her companions. Deep down she is a very romantic woman, but a great love disappointment in the past has led her to adopt an attitude that at first glance is not entirely affectionate, to avoid openly expressing her feelings.
Alicia Hermida plays SOFÍA:
She is the eldest of the group and the most acid. Having reached an advanced age allows her to always say whatever she wants, regardless of the effect her words may have. And her words are almost always rude, inconvenient or inopportune, which causes more than one headache for her daughter Doroti. She is an intelligent and clear-headed woman who doesn't miss a thing.
Carmen Maura plays ROSA:
She is a tender, naive and dreamy woman, for whom the world should be much more humane and fairer than it really is. Good by nature, she suffers as her own any injustice of which the people around her are victims. Honest and kind-hearted, her simple-mindedness will bring her many problems, but her good heart and the help of her friends will get her out of them.
