VICTOR ROS

Series - Crime / Thriller

S1 - 6 x 70' / S2 - 10 x 70'

"Nothing is what it seems", that is the motto that guides Víctor Ros, a young police detective in the Madrid of 1895. Inspired by the novels of Jerónimo Tristante, VÍCTOR ROS tells the adventures of this investigator who believes that traditional methods must give way to psychology, forensic medicine, fingerprint research and all the novelties that the century about to arrive will continue to discover.

Of humble origins, Victor was (before being a policeman) a pickpocket. Arrested as a child by Inspector Martinez, he will realize his worth and will sponsor him to leave the street, study and cross the border between crime and those who persecute him... But, despite his success as a policeman, Ros still has the soul of a neighborhood boy and contacts with those who were his childhood criminal companions, who will help him in his investigations and with whom he maintains, by blood and fire, a code of honor and loyalty as strong as with the police of his brigade.

Observant, deductive... different, Ros is able to see what others cannot. These qualities will lead him to lead the recently created Metropolitan Brigade, with which he will try to modernize police methods. But it will not be easy for him in a Spain anchored in the past that is about to lose its last colonies. He lives in an increasingly unbreathable social environment, the source of an increasingly dangerous anarchist terrorism. In a police force hitherto in military hands that views with suspicion the rise of someone with whom they share neither methods nor ethics... Someone different.

While he struggles to solve each case that comes his way, Victor Ros will have to deal with other no less serious problems. Like his ghosts of the past, when he was infiltrated in a radical group of Asturian miners, taking their leaders to jail; the loss of loved ones or deciding between the love of two women. One, Clara Alvear, a young woman also ahead of her time, trapped in the social conventions of an aristocratic family in decline. The other, Lola la Valenciana, a prostitute as humble as he is, who struggles to uncover a murderer who has killed several fellow prostitutes. And, as his inseparable Blázquez, his right-hand man in the Brigade and a passionate bullfighting fan, tells him, "life gives more goring than a Mihura".

CHARACTERS:

VÍCTOR ROS (CARLES FRANCINO)

Of humble origin, Victor grew up as a petty delinquent.Orphaned by his father, he was responsible for supporting his mother, a seamstress. At the age of 12, he led and organized the gang's robberies. At 15, Victor was a neighborhood hero, respected by all. His intelligence, his sense of observation and his strategic ability to organize robberies were his best assets. A single glance instilled respect and fear in the rest of the gang. Everything changes when Victor is arrested and Armando Martinez realizes that he was a special boy. Helped by the pleas of Victor's mother, he proposes to take him out of the bad life and sponsor him, giving him an education and a future. Now an inspector, he returns to Madrid..

BLÁZQUEZ (TOMÁS DEL ESTAL)

He is the Watson that every Sherlock needs. An old-fashioned cop, who uses common sense and experience as his main weapons. He tries to stay out of trouble and advises Victor to do the same. He believes that a policeman is a policeman by intuition and traditional methods.Science is for doctors, so he is a faithful representative of the old-fashioned police. Victor's disquisitions give him a headache... but he admires his ability. In addition to loyalty, Blázquez always sticks up for his colleagues and the people he loves.

LOLA (MEGAN MONTANER)

She is a prostitute, whose beauty is her only means to get ahead. After meeting Ros in a case related to the murder of several colleagues, she falls madly in love with him and dreams of getting out of that world.

CLARA ALVEAR (ESMERALDA MOYA)

She is a modern, cultured and vindictive woman, which is strange in Spain at the end of the 19th century. She meets Inspector Ros when he tries to decipher the madness of her sister, who had tried to kill her husband. Although she is in love with the protagonist, her father, a classical and ruined man, wants to marry her to Fernando, Victor's boss.

ARMANDO MARTÍNEZ (TITO VALVERDE)

At 58, Armando Martínez is Victor's godfather. It was he who took him off the streets, making him more like a father to the inspector. In turn, Victor is for Armando the son he had not been able to have. He believes in the need to improve police methods scientifically and has instructed Victor in that line. He became a policeman believing that he was working for a better society and, instead, he is going to retire and continues to see that the powerful manage the law at will, beyond the work of the police.

CRESPO (ALBERTO BERZAL)

At 40 years old, Crespo is clear that the law is in the street and that brute force is one of the key points when it comes to extracting information. His forte is not logical reasoning, but rather punching and then asking questions. Although he is a uniformed police officer, Victor will use him for surveillance of suspects in civilian clothes.

SÁNCHEZ (JOEL BOSQUED)

He shows total admiration and respect for Victor, for him, he is the role model. Despite not knowing anything about science or modern methods, he likes to learn. He is studying law because he believes it is a complement to his profession as a policeman and he is not yet used to seeing a dead man.

HORACIO BUENDÍA (JUAN FERNÁNDEZ)

The Chief Inspector of the Metropolitan Brigade is a man of order and law. He is a very disciplined military man who wants that, under his command, everything is done as it should be done. He does not like the new systems of Víctor Ros and more than once he will lose his temper with the young inspector. In spite of everything, he knows how to recognize when something is well done and to punish harshly when a subordinate does not do what he is ordered to do.

CARBALLO (JUAN CODINA)

An inspector of the old guard, he has a police vision very similar to Buendía's, but with much less ethics than the commissioner. His concept of police investigation is summarized in intuition, contacts and punching during interrogations, something that has made him especially famous. He knows his way around Madrid, knows the city like the back of his hand and has informants who inform him of anything that happens due to the fear he instills. They know that with Carballo you can go to jail for something you haven't done and never get out.
