EL GRECO, UNIVERSAL LIGHT AND SOUL

Documentary series - 6 x 25' - Culture

On the occasion of the IV Centenary of his death, delves into the life and work of El Greco, a universal painter who was born Greek, trained in Italy and ended up being Spanish. Through the real scenes of his life - Crete, Venice, Florence, Rome, Madrid, El Escorial and Toledo - and the various exhibitions on the occasion of the IV Centenary, the series unravels and provides answers to the many enigmas that still surround him.

Why did El Greco paint so differently from other painters of his time? This essential question will lead us to discover little by little his innermost being, his personality, his longings, his shadows and his lights; because El Greco, in short, wanted to paint the invisible, the immortal souls enclosed in bodies of flesh and blood.

No question will remain unasked: was he mad, did he suffer from some visual defect, was he a heretic?
