Designed for a broad family audience, this series combines the thrill of adventure with historical lessons from Isabella the Catholic to the War of Independence. From the return of Guernica to the picaresque Spain of El Lazarillo. From the intrigues of Dalí and Lorca at the Residencia de Estudiantes to the young Lope de Vega enlisted in the Invincible Armada.

Adventures, comedy, irony and feelings intertwine to narrate the daily life of a Ministry created to safeguard History from temporal digressions that could change the present. Our protagonists are not superheroes, but ordinary people exposed to unusual situations. Julián, a modern-day SAMUR nurse, Amelia Folch, the first female university student in Barcelona in 1880 (an image of modern Spain) and Alonso de Entrerríos, a soldier of the Flanders Tercios (an example of the courage and patriotic sacrifice of our armies). All Spains together for a common goal: to fight so that the past does not change.

CHARACTERS:

Rodolfo Sancho is Julián Martínez, a SAMUR (Emergency Service) nurse of today. He was a happy man until a few years ago, when he lost his wife in a car accident. Since then, his temper has become somewhat darker and his behaviour at work has become reckless. His incorporation into the Ministry's patrol saves him, because it enables him to invent a new life and to gain appreciation. His greatest qualities are bravery and his scant regard for his own life when it comes to saving those of others.

Julián

Aura Garrido is Amelia Folch, a woman from the late nineteenth century. She is well ahead of her own time but extremely naïve for the twenty-first century. She was one of the first women to enter the University of Barcelona. Coming from a comfortable middle-class background, she has always had a restless curiosity and her main goal has never been to simply make a good marriage. She is intelligent, hardworking and endowed with a photographic memory. Her capacity to analyse situations, added to her knowledge of history and her mastery of Spanish literature and Latin, all make her the brain behind the patrol unit.

Amelia

Nacho Fresneda is Alonso de Entrerríos, the third member of the patrol and a soldier from the Sicily Regiments of the sixteenth century. Typically Castilian, lean-built and not especially communicative, he does not like being led by a woman. He has some very old-fashioned values, but he has one great virtue: he is a man of honour, a man who would give his life for the cause. He is the perfect solider: an expert shot and strategist. He is the one who takes charge of the situation when force is required.

Alonso

Cayetana Guillén Cuervo is Irene Larra, a skeptical and pragmatic woman born in the nineteen-thirties, a character who conceals a certain bitterness, with obvious irony. She is the Ministry's public relations expert.

Juan Gea is Ernesto Jiménez. We do not know what historical period he was born in, but he is a serious, solitary and perfectionist civil servant, one who is always concerned about his recruits' lives in every mission.
