How did a taciturn and lackluster young man become one of the most powerful men Europe has ever known? How did a foreigner despised in his peninsular domains end up making Spain the basis for forging a transcontinental empire? How was he able to do so, facing rivals as powerful as Francis I, Suleiman the Magnificent, Henry VIII and even the Holy See?

Through the story of Charles of Habsburg's trajectory, from his eventful arrival in Spain, we will see how the heir to the crowns of Castile and Aragon grew as a statesman.

The series presents the story showing what happens in the different centers of power of the time. Loyal to a medieval chivalric ethic in which only he seems to believe, Charles V will end up being a victim of his ideals, mortgaging his reign for them and even obscuring his undoubted personal achievements.

CHARACTERS:

Álvaro Cervantes is CHARLES V. A young man whose willpower, tenacity and determination will make him the most powerful man in Europe, despite the hostility that surrounds him and the great stature of his rivals.
