8 x 70'
Luis Molina, a successful businessman, dies suddenly, leaving behind a fortune valued at 200 million euros. His four children, who had already suffered the loss of their mother years before, have been orphaned.
In a working-class suburban neighborhood, Quique, Luis' brother and only direct relative, survives happily, with no job or benefit, spending Mondays in the sun (and Tuesdays, and Wednesdays...) and flirting with everything that wears a skirt. Until the news of her brother's death upsets her placid existence. The Molina brothers had not spoken to each other for 17 years after Luis "stole" the love of his life from Quique: Marta. That is why the news, in addition to being a month late, comes with another great discovery: the existence of four nephews of whom he was unaware... and whom he now has to take care of.
Quique is allergic to any commitment. Especially children... So why does he decide to take care of them? Easy: for the money. His role as guardian entails certain privileges: a financial allowance, living in Luis Molina's mansion and taking his seat in the company. So Quique, burdened by a large debt, comes to the conclusion that maybe these "endearing rascals" deserve a second chance.
But the children are not in an easy moment. They have just lost their father and -although the procession goes inside- each one shows it in his own way: Laura through parties and going out with boys in an uncontrolled way; Carlos locked in his online world, isolated from any contact with people his age; and Miguel through his eccentric vision of art (and his existentialist metaphors) ... The only one Quique understands without a translator is the small and giggly Ana.
What Quique does not know is that in addition to the difficulties of caring for some "very particular" kids, there is also the supervision of Lola, the caretaker of the house, considers herself the children's guardian by right and does not take kindly to the influence she can exert on the little ones.
So Quique will always be in her sights, watching that she does things properly and giving rise to friction in everything that concerns the education of the kids... yes, with a latent sexual tension that neither of them is easy to recognize. Everything will become more complicated when Quique discovers that Laura, the most rebellious of the children, the one who is giving more problems... is his biological daughter.
CHARACTERS:
QUIQUE (the irresponsible uncle)
He is a nice, cheeky, greedy and irresponsible guy. A man of the street with humble taste who needs very little to get by. And that's what he has done all his life, surviving on just enough. That's why he has done everything from playing in his heavy band to being a dog walker or public relations for several pubs... Although, none of his jobs has lasted more than three months, the same as his girlfriends. Because Quique is a womanizer who avoids all kinds of commitments and ties, especially allergic to the word "children". Quique is an intelligent but uneducated guy -as he says: graduated with honors from the "street school"-, who has barely left his neighborhood. With his wit, he is capable of winning over anyone in the blink of an eye. What he does not take well at all are authoritarian figures, be it a policeman, a politician... or Lola, the one in charge of watching over him in her role as tutor.
LOLA (the relentless social worker)
A hard-working and professional woman who has sacrificed everything for her career in the service of Luis Molina, whom she idolized for his good taste and perfectionism. For this reason, Lola does not understand Quique, who represents the opposite. She is very orderly and controlling, to an obsessive point. In fact, although she adores order, she understands that her eagerness for perfectionism tends to intolerance: more than once she is caught tidying up the objects on a table, even if it is someone else's, in what is almost an obsessive-compulsive disorder that she tries to repress without much success. She takes her job extremely seriously and does it, above all, for the sake of the children she tries to protect at all costs. Her childhood was quite unfortunate, and she doesn't want anyone to go through what she went through. That's why she has an instant dislike for Quique that ends up turning into a mutual love-hate relationship.
INÉS (the cook who aspires to be an actress)
Inés is a waitress “temporarily”, although that temporarily has been, at this point, her whole life. With a degree in Dramatic Art, she dreams of being a great actress, although the only thing she has achieved so far is to star in a couple of webseries and appear in two TV commercials (none of them with a line). Although her friends tease her and tend to “poke” her, they all support her in the opportunities that have come her way. Quique will offer her a job at his brother's house, trying to bring some of his “authentic” cooking to his nephews who are overprotected by diets and products too exquisite to be really tasty. This will make Miguel, the most gluttonous, the one who will be the one to better handle the arrival of Inés, with whom he shares -from totally opposite worlds- the same artistic spirit.
Laura, Carlos, Miguel and Ana are Luis' children and Quique's nephews and nieces.
The first is an It Girl, spoiled, posh... materialistic. But Laura is not stupid, she just has other priorities. Used to getting what she wants when she wants it and never getting a "no" for an answer, Quique will have trouble controlling her: Laura has trouble obeying rules, especially if they come from a guy in a leather jacket.
Carlos only leaves his room to feed himself. And if they could pass his food under the door, all the better. In his room he has everything he needs: his computer, to which he is hooked and with which he is capable of doing things that would make the computer crime department tremble. Carlos, despite his young age, has a prodigious mind and a great ability to handle new technologies. Something that will come in handy for Quique in his new professional career and more than once he will turn to the boy for help. Now, whether the boy deigns to open the door to his room is another matter.
Idealistic, enthusiastic and outgoing. Miguel is very sociable, talkative and loves to be with people. Too bad the feeling is not mutual. Few -not to say nobody- are capable of understanding and appreciating a soul as sensitive as his. Miguel wants to be an artist. What kind of artist? That's the least important: singer, actor, dancer, magician... No matter the discipline as long as he can give free rein to his inexhaustible creativity.
No matter how over Quique is or how unbearable his brothers are, Ana will always have smiles, kisses and hugs for them. And the fact is that she doesn't understand bad feelings, money doesn't matter the least to her and everything points to the fact that it never will. So you can give her the most expensive gift, so that she will be "captivated" only with the box. Because Ana needs very little to have fun: a pile of dry leaves from the garden, a few empty cans or a "tickle war"... and she is the happiest girl in the world. Despite being the smallest, she is often the most independent of her siblings and the one who is always happy and in favor of everything, so there's nothing left to do but want to cuddle her very, very hard.
