Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Garzón, 'Promises of sand' immerses us in the story of Lucía, an aid worker who travels to Libya with an NGO to find her place. Full of hops, and together with her colleagues from the Global Action hospital, she will face, every day, shocking realities that will challenge her idea of the world as she knew it.

In this transformative journey, Lucia will be caught up in a whirlwind of emotions as she meets Hayzam, an intriguing and unscrupulous man who traps her in a tsunami of passion, as well as Andy, who falls madly in love with her. A thrilling plot that will plunge you into a world of surprises and decisions that will change the course of their lives.

CHARACTERS:

Lucía

28 years old. Social educator specialized in children who travels to Fursa to collaborate with an NGO. Lost in the West, she seeks her place in the East. Paradoxically, in a culture dominated by men and where women are eclipsed, Lucia will feel stronger and more beautiful than ever. The East helps her to find herself and to find love.

Hayzan

35 years old. Local driver working for the NGO. Hayzam is a man without ideology who is limited to survive in times of war. Imposing, enigmatic and seductive, it is suspected that he might actually be "The Hawk", an arms dealer who uses the NGO as a cover.

Andy

38 years old. Head of the NGO. As committed to the cause as he is personally introverted. His addictive commitment to solidarity missions has already cost him a divorce. Having become a nomad, starting a family is no longer an option for him. Until he meets Lucia.

Fathia

24 years old. The head nurse, with whom Lucia will discover the meaning of the deepest and most unconditional friendship. Fathia is pregnant by the man who rescued her from her Bedouin tribe, preventing her from being circumcised and marrying her. It is a pity that this same man does not love her, but Lucia.

Julia

Julia, 50 years old, CNI agent infiltrated in the NGO. Pretending to be Andy's assistant, her real mission is to prevent a consignment of weapons manufactured in Spain, and stolen by a trafficker called "El Halcón", from falling into the hands of ISIS.

Dr. Hamid

52 years old. Director of the precarious Fursa Hospital. He represents wisdom and dignity. Proud of his land and culture, he feels that the West treats them with too much condescension and compassion, when in reality they are the cause of their miseries.
