SPHERICAL is a feature-length documentary which aims to praise the epic achievement of the First round-the-world trip carried out by Magallanes and Juan Sebastián de Elcano. This story tells one of the greatest milestones in human history such as the first circumnavigation of the Earth and it is shown through the amazing journey accomplished by its protagonists. It is also used as a context from which such a fable interrelating history, nature, and current updates gets idealized.

This crazy adventure accomplished by the Spanish Navy, which will soon commemorate its 500th anniversary, becomes the driving force of an extraordinary audiovisual journey. The main protagonist and setting of this historic narration is the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, which leads us around the world in order to show the locations of this heroic act.

The most relevant events happened at that time are displayed in each of the corners visited by the Spanish expedition. Furthermore, the current details of the ecosystems and the fauna faced by the crew members are presented herein, as well as the places and beings hitherto unknown. All these aspects of the journey which were occasionally and thoroughly detailed by chronicler Antonio Pigaffeta are conveyed to the audience in all its glory.
