CHARACTERS:
Clara Rojo is a self-made woman... she had no other choice. She was a very young mother of a little girl, Sara, whom she was forced to raise alone when her partner abandoned them. On top of this, she lost her mother, Lola, just a few years ago. She could be a clear example of overcoming. Life presses, very suffocating, but Clara is, above all, a survivor. This simple life without fuss contrasts with her past. The one she lived until she was 20, when she left, running away from her native Vera, after finding out who her father was... who is none other than Ricardo Lasierra, the owner of half the town and father of her best friends since childhood, Silvia and Marta.
Ricardo Lasierra was always the soul of the town, the good boss, the perfect patriarch... a lie she can no longer bear. More than 40 years ago he fell in love with Lola Rojo and loved her as he never loved Rita, his wife. The problem came when Lola became pregnant and Ricardo never recognized his daughter as such. But now he wants to make amends. It is time to recognize his daughter, to change things... even if he is going to do it his way. Her death will shake the foundations of his family and all of Vera.
Rita Vázquez, the matriarch of the family. An Angela Channing of our time. Always obsessed with what people will say, to keep up appearances of a supposedly idyllic life in Vera's face. She always knew about Ricardo's peculiar nature and his habitual absences, but she preferred to swallow, something that forged and soured her character. The reality is that Rita is a woman who has suffered a lot in silence and her heart has put on an armor difficult to break.
Silvia Lasierra has always been a woman of simple tastes. She has never had the need to appear like her family. She is happy with a quiet life with her civil guard husband and their two children: Luz, 22, and Jon, 17. Silvia is the voice of reason and the one who carries the family business on her shoulders. Her sister could lend a hand in management, but she is too busy doing nothing.
Marta Lasierra has always done whatever she wanted. You could say that she has been the capricious child, the one who always got her own way. Her parents did everything they could to prepare her to run the family business, but she never got beyond her degree and MBA. Like her mother, she was always concerned about appearances, about what people would say... hence she married Andrés with her head and not with her heart.
Julio Conde is Rock n` Roll, he has always wanted to live his life without ties, taking risks and without giving explanations to anyone, the classic punk with feelings. He was Clara's boyfriend when she was a teenager and, nowadays, Julio runs one of the most famous bars in Vera. Ideal to have a beer... and to do some tricks for some Riojanos. Because “what's bred in the bone will come out in the flesh” and problems will always follow him, even if he doesn't want them to.
Javier Romaña. He is a talkative, affable and very noble man. He lives his job as a Civil Guard with great intensity -perhaps too much- something that sometimes leads him to think of himself as a sort of John McClaine, even though the job consists of saving an old lady's cat. Right now he is going through a deep crisis in his marriage, but that never takes away his smile or his drive for what he does. This Civil Guard is one of the great comedy triggers in the series.
Luz Romaña has a dream: succeeding in the world of cooking and becoming a great chef. However, she will have the opposition of her mother, who considers her too young and prefers to hire a new cook, Ainhoa. The arrival of this new chef will arouse Luz's suspicions because of her dubious professionalism and she will officially declare her as her enemy. However, as the saying goes, from hate to love there is only one step...
Jon Romaña is a shy boy who is bullied at school. His love life is null and void, and his parents are his greatest references in love. The arrival of his new cousin, Sara, will completely change Jon's life. She will be his new confidant, the person who will help him to have a better social life... and with whom he will fall in love without remedy.
Sara Rojo. A twirly, ironic and, at times, ill-tempered teenager. The usual. Especially if your mother takes you out of Madrid overnight and you say goodbye to your friends, your school, your boyfriend... However, with the help of her new cousin Jon, Julio -whom she will lend a hand at the bar- and two lovely older ladies, Cuca and Marifran, she will manage to appreciate her new family.
Andrés Herrero. The son-in-law that anyone would want in their family. Attentive, adorable, discreet, not at all brother-in-law, although a bit of a ball at times. He is the living image of the kindness and support that Marta needs for everything. Nowadays Andrés runs the wine business with his family, which sometimes makes him be absent and hides more than one secret. The first one, Andrés himself... Is he really the perfect son-in-law he seems to be?
Arturo Pérez Sañudo is many things: mayor, corrupt, corrupt, ambitious... but, above all, he is the main ally of Rita, whom he will try to help to get rid of Clara in exchange for enjoying several advantages in the hotel for his city council and for himself. In addition to all these attributes, he is also unfaithful, which he will try to change by force in order not to lose his wife.
