GRL PWR
GRL PWR
DOCUMENTARY SERIES – 6 x 8’ - Feminism
Documentary series dedicated to six young and enterprising Spanish women who have achieved respect and admiration in their professional fields: literature, illustration, music, business, sports and cinema.
GRL PWR' will take eight minutes to create an in-depth portrait of each of the protagonists around the concept of Girl Power from a modern and current approach. With an effective approach and a very careful aesthetic, the documentary highlights the role of six women trendsetters: Luna Miguel, Joana Pastrana, Anastasia Bengoechea, Bad Gyal, Yaiza Canosa and Elena Martín.
It also reflects the effectiveness of social networks as a tool to showcase the work and influence of these women, but it is not the only aspect to highlight in the success of their careers: work ethics, personal and professional ambitions, the role of women in society or the role of friendship are other topics that will be addressed in these documentaries.
FEATURES:
Bad Gyal is a singer, dancer and author of her own music. Her videos have accumulated millions of views, she has toured all over the world and her freshness has turned urban music upside down in our country with a very personal sound that draws from Jamaican dancehall.
Luna Miguel is the author of six books of poetry and is preparing the publication of her first novel; in addition to being an editor at PlayGround, she is one of the most popular writers of current Spanish poetry.
Monstruo Espagueti is the illustrator Anastasia Bengoechea. The drawings of this graphic humorist are a reflection of modern life seen from an ironic point of view.
Joana Pastrana is a boxer, European champion and official aspirant to the IBF Minimum Weight World Championship to be held soon in Spain. She has an overwhelming personality forged in the effort and concentration required by such a demanding sport.
Yaiza Canosa is an entrepreneur and founder of GOI, the Uber of parcel delivery that connects those who want to send something with those who want to transport it.
Elena Martín is a screenwriter, actress, director and, like the rest of our protagonists, millennial. In 2014, she starred in Las amigas de Ágata, a feature film directed by Laia Alabart, Alba Cros, Laura Rius and Marta Verheyen and which quickly became a generational film. In 2017, Martín presented at the Malaga Festival her first work as a director, Júlia Ist.
