DETECTIVE TOURÉ

Prime Time Series - 6 x 50' - Drama / Detective

Guinean Mahamoud Touré has become the best detective in Bilbao.

However, he didn't want to be. In the six months he has been living in the Basque city he has been content to do all kinds of odd jobs to make a living. He has even made a name for himself as a clairvoyant capable of reading the future for those who ask him... (or so it says on his card). But one day, a woman from the upper class of Bilbao asks him to spy on her husband: she suspects he has a mistress and knows that he frequents the places where Touré hangs around. The assignment is beyond his powers, but he can't pass up the opportunity to earn extra money. And so, in the most unexpected way, Detective Touré is born.

His first case is successfully solved, and soon word of his new detective status spreads, not only through the multicultural and humble neighborhood of San Francisco, but also through "white" and upper-class Bilbao, which requests his services more than expected.

Although his skin color does not allow him to go unnoticed in the city, the Guinean has an important asset in his favor: he has a gift for talking to people and making them trust him. Touré knows how to read people, to find out who is lying and who is not. He thinks logically and quickly, writes down everything he sees or suspects in a little notebook he always carries with him and, although he is not a man of action and sometimes screws up, he has the necessary qualities to be the best detective in town.

The cases he is initially entrusted with are always everyday cases, but they all end up becoming disproportionately complicated. Some of them even hide something else, a deeper mystery that requires Touré to push his abilities to the limit. With the help of migrant colleagues and friends from Bilbao (who help him to understand the strange customs of the city), our detective will become a thorn in the side of the Ertzaintza, whom he will overtake more than once in his investigations, although they will end up working together.

But, unfortunately for him, he will also become an annoying presence for very dangerous people, since many of the cases in which he is involved end up, for one reason or another, connected to an organization that controls human trafficking between Africa and Europe, and which Touré keeps getting in the way.

And so it is that our unexpected detective, whose only goal in life was to earn some money with which to reunite his family in Bilbao, discovers a new purpose: to save his life and that of his daughter Sira, who lives in Paris and who will end up being the object of blackmail, threatened by the same guys her father stumbles upon time and again without intending to.

CHARACTERS:

Malcolm Treviño-Sitté is Mahamoud Touré.

Until two years ago, Touré had never left his village in Guinea. His search for a better life led him to cross the Strait of Gibraltar with his eldest daughter, Sira.

They had to separate and while she lives in Paris with some acquaintances, Touré settled in Bilbao, in the San Francisco neighborhood, living badly in a shared apartment with other immigrants. To survive in Bilbao, Touré must accept any job that comes his way. Dressing up as a fire bull at the Rekalde festivities, playing the role of a commercial man or singing in the choir of the Orfeón.

But how does he become a "detective"? By chance. Touré has no training as an investigator, but he doesn't need it either. There is something about him that inspires confidence and makes others not afraid to open up, because our detective is an honest and generous guy.

Lander Otaola is Txema.

He works in the bookstore, owned by Enare. Easily recognizable in Bilbao, as he travels around on a small, old-fashioned scooter. As characteristic of him are the spirit of inconsequentiality with which he faces his work as his great people skills and his generosity. He is in love with Enare and is not afraid to confess it to Touré, of whom he immediately becomes a great friend and companion in his misadventures.

Itsaso Arana is Enare.

Owner of the bookstore. A person of great contrasts, cheerful and impulsive. Her interest in social movements and political causes on the street has made her a popular person in the neighborhood. She helps everyone she can, but she goes out of her way for Toure. She is involved in a relationship doomed to failure.

Itziar Ituño is Charo.

Arretxe's wife is serious and elegant. She belongs to the upper class of Bilbao, but that does not prevent her from being seen with someone like Touré, to whom she offers her first job as a detective. She is tremendously self-confident, although her husband's infidelity threatens to break through that shell of security. She is one of those responsible for the rising rents in San Francisco.

Charo

Unax Ugalde is Arretxe.

Charo's husband runs a transport company in the neighborhood and tries to give job opportunities to migrants by helping them with their papers. He participates in neighborhood meetings, but omits to talk about the increase in rents in which his wife is involved.

Loreto Mauleon is Cristina.

She is a woman of great character and a fighter. Divorced and with a young son. She managed to finish a Pharmacy Assistant course and thanks to that she has been able to leave the Búho Negro (her aunt's sleazy bar). Her dream is to leave San Francisco. Cristina will respect Touré's family ties, but as she helps him with his cases, the connection between the two will grow stronger and stronger.

Ayoub El Hilali is Xihab.

Funny, cautious and scary. The waiter of the Berebar is a lucky guy, he has his papers in order and a job. That's why he doesn't want trouble and always advises Touré to stop playing detective. Even so, Xihab always ends up helping him.

Urko Olazabal is Etxebe.

Etxebe is the villain and the savior. Neighborhood policeman, he knows him inside out.
