After the relapse he suffered in Puertollano, HIT arrives on the island of La Palma to treat his alcoholism. His destination is the Aasha Center: an isolated community with a strict regimen of therapy, medication and surveillance, where the prohibitions go far beyond drugs - including everything from cell phones and the Internet to sex and romantic relationships. Although he finds himself unable to integrate into this "sect for addicts" - in which, to top it off, he has to share a room - Hugo decides to join when he finds among the inmates none other than Lena, the Anne Frank student with whom he still has a score to settle. Following this white rabbit, HIT begins to feel like Alice in Wonderland: lost in a world of deranged characters and incomprehensible rules, where he must give up his desire for prominence to be just another patient.

His admission comes only a week after the tragic accident in which Alejandra, one of the most beloved psychologists in the community, drove her car off a nearby road. In the midst of the collective mourning, HIT becomes part of the group of inmates that this professional supervised and that Raul will now take care of: a young and inexperienced therapist who, like our protagonist, has just arrived at the center. He will guide HIT in his rehabilitation process, trying to make him see that addiction is only the tip of the iceberg and that, in order to treat it, he must do what he fears the most: look inward.

In this arduous inner journey he will be accompanied by his group mates: seven boys and girls between 16 and 31 years old whom HIT, at first, will only see as good kids playing at being bad guys. However, it won't be long before he discovers that behind each of them lies a story as sad and painful as life itself. Seven stories about addictions, disorders and traumas, tinged with rage, guilt and stigmatization, in which Hugo will not be able to avoid getting involved to try to give them a happy ending -even if this means interfering with Raúl's therapy.

But HIT's rebelliousness will only be one of the problems faced by the new psychologist, as he will soon find indications that Alejandra's supposed accident was not such - and that the person responsible for it could be hiding among the inmates. For his part, Hugo will also receive unexpected news, with a family reunion that will force him to put aside his ego to resolve buried conflicts and assume new responsibilities. All this on an island that cannot forget the volcanic eruption that devastated it a year ago - and whose inhabitants, like HIT and the rest of Aasha's inmates, are still struggling to rise from the ashes.

CHARACTERS

RAÚL (the therapist)

Patient and kind-hearted, Raul always wants to help without judging, to listen without imposing his opinions, allowing his patients to express themselves freely and find their own answers. In his daily practice, he strives to maintain a space of respect and understanding, where each person feels welcomed and valued. However, he himself is not exempt from the internal struggle: despite his professional role, he must deal with the difficult task of controlling the emotions that working with his patients awakens within himself. These emotions, sometimes intense and conflicting, challenge him to find the balance between his personal involvement and the necessary distance to remain a constant and reliable support.

NORA

A girl with great affective deficiencies who is addicted to sex and certain drugs. Her hard childhood has made it difficult for her to create healthy relationships and her story will tough the whole therapy group. Raul will have a really hard time with her, questioning whether or not he is worthy of being a good therapist.

MARC

Being the center of attention is Marc's favorite pastime, a textbook narcissist who, as a veteran, will help Hugo integrate into the center from the beginning, although his instability will end up playing tricks on him. He is insecure and has a terrible fear of people judging him.

Delicate and sensitive, Abi hides a split personality that makes her listen to voices that only exist in her head. She is diagnosed with schizophrenia and also suffers from alcoholism, due to family problems she develops a shy personality that she tends to avoid through drinking.

TOM

Tom is an alcoholic and has had a confusing adolescence, full of bad decisions. Because of this, he made a mistake that makes him carry a tremendous guilt complex. Having trouble controlling his emotions, he tends to be impulsive and to lose his temper, but, in spite of everything, he is eager to heal and gives himself completely in order to forgive himself.

JULIA

She is a teenager obsessed with influencers and very damaged by social networks, one of the causes of the bulimia she suffers from. She has a constant need to be the focus of attention and influence people. At the same time, she carries a very big wound in her self-esteem, caused by the imposed canons of beauty.

ISRAEL

Israel is a quiet and kind-hearted boy, but very conspiratorial and obsessive, who hides a great need to love and be loved. His paranoia makes him isolate himself from the world, but he will not lack the desire to turn things upside down to take control.

YOL

A trans woman struggling to overcome several suicide attempts and to find herself. Although she is as lost as the others, her sensitivity makes her concerned to reassure her peers and she acts as the "mommy" of the group.

CHRISTIAN

Christian carries on his shoulders the trauma of an abuse he suffered in his childhood and that has blocked him. He is hermetic and quiet, he does not like the limelight and it will be difficult for him to reveal his problems and emotions. He lies to himself to survive in his head.

SERGIO

A firefighter who worked on the Tajogaite volcano eruption and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He is "better than bread" and in him we will see a great willpower to evolve and move forward after having been addicted to some drugs.
