The hunt. Tramuntana
THE HUNT. TRAMUNTANA
Prime Time Series - Crime Drama / Suspense
S2 - 8 x 60'
Sergeant Selva arrives in the small village of Tramuntana, in the mountains of Mallorca, with a mission: to find out what has happened to his colleague Sara Campos. Fifteen days earlier, the sergeant had begun an investigation in the same village for the murder of Bernat Cervera, one of the most beloved people in the village, who was killed in front of the eyes of three teenagers. An event that turned the life of this small town upside down and left no neighbor unscathed.
Sara's investigation reveals itself as a russian doll: within each mystery, there is another twist. A journey that will lead Sara to confront her own past on the island that may be connected to the case. But she will not do it alone: she will meet again with Corporal Victor Gamero to, perhaps, close the wounds opened since Monteperdido. How far has the investigation led Sara? That is the answer that, in parallel, Sergeant Selva tries to give. Is it possible that Sara died looking for the truth?
CHARACTERS
SARA CAMPOS
The Monteperdido case left emotional scars on the sergeant, who has taken more than a year to get back to field work. Bernat's murder in Tramuntana means much more than a simple investigation for Sara: it means returning to Mallorca, where she spent part of her childhood, confronting a past that she has insisted on burying and which is the cause of her night terrors and psychological fragility. To take on this case, Sara will not hesitate to break all the rules, because solving it will not only be a fair ending for Julia, Bela, Samiah and Dani, teenagers who, like Sara herself, have grown up in a foster home, but it will also allow her to close wounds from the past that threaten her mental stability.
VÍCTOR GAMERO
The secrets and lies of the neighbors that came to light in Monteperdido have made Victor feel the need to move away from his village and reinvent himself. For the last few months, he has been working on secondment at the UCO in Palma and has led the investigation of a young immigrant who died on the beach of Sa Calobra. A case that will end up crossing with Tramuntana's case and that will put him to the test. First, because it will question his previous work and, secondly, because it will put him back to Sara's side: an opportunity, perhaps, to rescue what they both felt. Although it is possible that Tramuntana's investigation will separate them forever.
SARGENTO SELVA
45 years old. Sergeant of the UCO Selva arrives in the small town of Tramuntana fifteen days after Sara Campos did. His mission is very simple: he is not here to investigate anything related to Bernat's murder, but the work Sara did: is it possible that the sergeant manipulated a psychiatric report to take charge of this case? What mistakes has Sara made for her superiors to send someone to review her investigation? Or is Sara's life in danger?
Little by little, we will discover what the objective of the peculiar sergeant Selva is: cynical, obsessed with a melodic song from the seventies composed by an uncle of his, a compulsive eater and smoker, quite skeptical about the police qualities of Sara Campos, whom he considers a madwoman. His Andalusian accent does not soften in the least his comments and his apparent lack of empathy for everything that has happened in Tramuntana. However, under that facade of laziness and distance, there is a conscientious investigator who will be fundamental to unravel what has happened on that island and what has happened to Sara Campos.
CATALINA TRIAS ( CATI)
33 years old. Corporal of the Guardia Civil in command of the Tramuntana post. Her work was based on dealing with neighborhood problems, fights and disturbances of order, petty theft and robberies, drug dealing, a tourist lost in the mountains... She is not used to dealing with complicated cases and has never had to deal with a homicide.
Single and without a partner, but mother of a 14-year-old boy, Juan, diagnosed with autism, who barely speaks and suffers small crises when his routine is altered, he gets stressed, feels frustrated or is exposed to an environment with many stimuli. She is a simple woman, open-minded, friendly, affable, with a great left hand to handle the problems of the town. She is a much loved and esteemed member of the Tramuntana community, partly because of her character and partly because she is Vicente's daughter.
VICENTE TRIAS
55 years old. Former chief of the local police of Tramuntana. Recently retired due to health problems. An advanced stage of cancer has forced him to leave his post a few months ago. He has represented the authority for many years in Tramuntana and has earned the respect of the people.
Widower. Father of Catalina and grandfather of Juan. He has a special relationship with him. He spends most of his time taking care of him and has passed on to him his passion for small handicrafts such as building birdhouses. Childhood friend of Teresa, Marta Salort, Inés Mestre, Bernat and Jaume Febrer. He has a character that stands out for his confidence and determination.
MADÓ TERESA ARTIGUES
52 years old. Director of the Tramuntana foster care center, Lluc des Teix. She has dedicated her life to the care of the children who have passed through the center since thirty years ago. She manages the center, organizes private fundraising to support the maintenance of the building or extracurricular and leisure activities for her "children", fights for scholarships and is involved in the search for foster families or adoption. Her opinion is that no matter how much love they are given at the center, it is always better to have a family.
Single. Traditional. She is a woman of enormous generosity, devoted with all her heart to the care of the children of Lluc. In them she puts all the love she would give to a family she does not have. For them, she is a reference of authority, hence they call her "Madó Teresa". She is a believer. Her faith is a weapon that helps her to defend her social work against the criticism of some citizens concerned about the bad influence of some of the boys and girls of Lluc. She is willing to do whatever it takes to defend her children.
BERNAT CERVERA
55 years old. Piano teacher. He has had to give up his profession due to serious vision problems that have almost left him blind. He is not part of Lluc, but he has a close relationship with the residence as he directs the Lluc Choir in which some of the children in the residence sing.
Widower. His "family" are Madó Teresa and the rest of his friends of his age in the village. He is a man of kind and gentle character. His friends say of him that, at times, he is too singular. He is loved, respected and well known in the village. For years he has been doing a local radio program in which he talks about the music linked to the island, which links with legends and curious stories of the Tramuntana mountain range.
SAMIAH CHRÉRIF
16 years old. Student. He arrived on the island aboard a boat, after a crossing from the coast of Algeria that his mother did not survive. Since her arrival in our country (4 years ago) she began a pilgrimage through social services until she finally ended up in Lluc. Samiah is the youngest child who has spent more time in the center. With a maternal character, but introverted, she is a person who likes to "take care" of others. That is what she has done and continues to do with Dani, another boy at the center who has always needed special attention.
At the age of 15, a couple from Tramuntana, Llorenç and Inés, offered her their home, partly forced by Teresa. Sami hesitated to accept the offer, but finally accepted when Teresa pushed her not to pass up the opportunity. Despite a difficult puberty, her shyness and sometimes isolation, Samiah is now living a sweet moment; she has found her place in Llorenç and Inés' family and feels accompanied by her best friends: Dani, Julia and Bela. She is a survivor who, despite the blows of life, seems to have made it through.
JULIA REIG
16 years old. Student. She entered Lluc des Teix when she was seven years old. Her mother, Amelia Reig, was addicted to alcohol and drugs and did not put up a problem when the social services took custody of her. During the first years, Amelia visited her frequently and promised her that as soon as she recovered from "her illnesses" they would be together again. Julia always had her suitcase packed, but the promises were never fulfilled and, later, the visits were spaced out to later become phone calls and then silence.
In spite of everything, Julia believes she has been forgetting her mother: she has been living with Gerard and Joanna for five years. With an explosive character, without apparent fear because of her fragile position, Julia has not been an easy daughter for the couple. They have had numerous fights and disagreements, but the truth is that the love between Gerard and Julia is real and strong. Little by little, she begins to feel at home. She wears her hair dyed blue and although she appears to be a rebel, she is actually more fragile than she looks. She has a special relationship with Bela, another of Lluc's children, a classmate at school and in the Tramuntana choir.
BELA LEBEDEV
16 years old. Student. Another of the girls taken in from Lluc des Teix. Bela's mother was an emigrant born in one of the former Soviet republics who arrived in Mallorca in the late nineties. When Bela was eleven years old, she died in a traffic accident. Suddenly, Bela's life was transformed: with no family and no roots in the country, she became dependent on social services. This sudden setback in his life showed her how fragile everything is.
Bela has a cheerful, docile character and strives to meet the expectations others have of her. She strives to be the perfect child, perhaps out of fear of losing what she has again. That is why her fostering process has been so easy and during the three years she has been living at Lance and Monica's home she has not had a single problem. In reality, she is a seductress who is capable of manipulating others for her own benefit. A game of seduction that she also practices with Julia, the best of her friends, with whom she has a very close relationship.
