Los amigos de Sjionni Brink llevan "Coming home" a Eurovisión 2011

Eurovisión 2011 - 1ª Semifinal - Islandia

El grupo Sigurjon's Friends representará a Islandia en Eurovisión 2011 con la canción "Coming home".

El grupo está formado por Palmi, Hreimurel, Matthias, Benedikt, Vignir y Gunnar, y todos ellos tienen una cosa en común: eran amigos de Sigurjon "Sjionni" Brink. Sjionni se presentó a la preselección islandesa y murió el pasado 17 de enero, poco antes de la celebración de la tercera semifinal del concurso.

Tras su muerte, la mujer y seis de los mejores amigos de Sjionni pensaron que el mejor homenaje sería luchar por conseguir que "Coming home" sonara este año en Düsseldorf. El público apoyó la propuesta y finalmente el grupo estará en la primera semifinal del próximo 10 de mayo.
