Eurovision Song Contest 2015: RTVE.ES, the largest and most interactive online coverage

RTVE.ES, the website of the Spanish Public Broadcasting (TVE), has carried out the most extensive and intensive online coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) week 2015, with an special focus on interactivity and participation. The aim was making Spanish eurofans to live this week as if they were at Viena.
More than 10 hours of live streaming through Periscope, 3 online shows with social networking participation on RTVE.ES, a live blogging of daily highlights, 7 trending topics, social radar, special online coverage of both semifinals, daily videos with main events, fashion and musical analysis...
Besides liveblogging, during ESC final there will be an exclusive Periscope streaming at the backstage, a social radar recalling the social activity and the posibility of capturing and sharing 30 seconds-pieces of the live show with the second screen app +TVE.
#Edurnevision and 10 hours of live social streamings
Since the name of Spanish representative was released, Edurne, RTVE.ES's team has broadcast on his website ten online shows for eurofans under the title Edurnevisión [view shows], with interviews, reports, analysis, entertainment and, above all, live participation through social networks.
Three out of those shows were broadcast during Eurovision week with a set in RTVE's headquarters at Madrid and the participation of RTVE.ES's correspondants at Viena. Last of them included an interview with Edurne, Spanish representative in the ESC.
But the special feature this year has been the live coverage from Viena, with a mixture between RTVE.ES's own signal and Periscope streaming. So far, RTVE.ES's team has broadcast more than 60 Periscope streamings, adding more than 10 hours of information, interviews and entertainment, including press conferences and rehearsals.
There were daily hashtags to run the conversation on Twitter and two special ones for semifinals. Seven out of them have become trending topic in Spain and #EurovisionSemi2 on Thursday was even first global trending topic.
RTVE's Eurovision official Twitter account has more than 38.000 followers and the Facebook fan page 146.000 and both have been the social networking strategical core.
From Monday to Saturday RTVE.ES is liveblogging with special coverage for both semifinals. The Social Radar recalled the most interesting images and messages in the social networks and showed the most tweeted artists, this Social Wall will be online for the final too.
For the most eager eurofans, RTVE.ES is broadcasting online an Euromarathon (#Euromaratón), more than 50 streaming hours of previous Eurovision editions, from Thursday 21st to Saturday 23th.
On Saturday, Edurne fans will be able to support the singer during the day with the hashtag #TodosconEdurne (everyone with Edurne), their contributions will be shown also in a Social Wall. And there will be a few more Periscope streamings.
During the final, #Edurnevision will be RTVE.ES's hashtag, a multiscreen broadcasting with an exclusive Periscope streaming at the backstage, the posibility of capturing and sharing 30 seconds-pieces of the live show with the second screen app +TVE and a special feature with information and videos for TVE's HbbTV service RTVE Botón Rojo.
