The government overcomes the first step towards approving the budget
In the third vote and for a draw, the government of the Partido Popular overcame the first formality of the budget by compromising at the last minute on improvements to the Basque economic agreement.
Minister Montoro defended the improvements on the floor, before the usual misgivings of the Ciudadanos members. Stability was said to have taken priority in the negotiations.
Partido Nacionalista Vaco and Coalición Canaria tipped the balance of government for the PP again, putting them in the minority. Meanwhile, The Catalan European Democratic Party discussed the budgets for uncompleted projects. They mentioned commuter trains, the Mediterranean Corridor and the Liquidity Fund for the Autonomous Communities (FLA). On the other hand, Minister Cristóbal Montoro defends the projects and hopes to obtain the vote of the only Nueva Canarias representative to approve the budget definitively.
