Eurovision 2022: Chanel to kick off her European promo tour in Portugal

• She will perform in the second semifinal of ‘Festival da Canção 2022’, the Portuguese national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
• The Spanish candidate will join the party with SloMo, on the 7th of March, the day RTP celebrates its 65th anniversary

More than three months ahead for the singer and dancer to try to conquer the hearts of Europe to the rhythm of ‘SloMo’, Chanel starts the race for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Her first stop will be Portugal, where she has been invited by the Portuguese national broadcaster, RTP, to participate in their national selection, Festival da Canção as a guest performer. An important date that coincides with RTP’s 65th anniversary.

The Spanish representative in Turin will join the Portuguese party on the 7th of March, for the second semi-final of the contest. The semifinals will take place on the 5th and 7th of March and the final is scheduled for the 12th of March. All the shows will take place at RTP’s studios and everyone will be able to watch them live on RTP1 and RTP Play. Chanel will give her all on stage with ‘SloMo’, a modern urban latin influenced dance pop track written by Leroy Sánchez, Keith Harris, Ibere Fortes, Maggie Szabo and Arjen Thonen with a heart-stopping choreography.

Festival da Canção

In each semi-final there will be 10 songs in competition, five of which will qualify for the final. Thus there will be 10 songs in the final. The voting system will follow the usual model, with half of the score being awarded by a professional jury and the other half by the popular vote. Aurea, Fado Bicha, FF, Diana Castro, Kumpania Algazarra, Maro, Norton, Themisterdriver, Os Quatro e Meia, Valas & Astronautas take part in the first semifinal while Milhanas, Blacci, Cubita, Pongo e Tristany, Jonas, Os Azeitonas, Inès Homem de Melo, Pepperoni Passion, O Vampiro Submarino and Syro will perform in the second one.
